CEREC® Same-Day Crowns

CEREC®: Same-Day Crowns for a Faster, More Convenient Smile

CEREC® stands for Chairside Economic Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, a groundbreaking technology that allows us to create custom dental crowns in a single visit. This advanced process is faster, more efficient, and more comfortable than traditional crown creation methods.

What Is CEREC®?

CEREC® is an innovative technology that drastically reduces the time it takes to receive a custom-made crown. With CEREC®, you can leave our office with a beautifully restored tooth—on the same day.

What Is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a cap that covers a damaged tooth to restore its size, shape, and strength. Crowns can also improve the appearance of a tooth, cover small or misshapen teeth, and support dental bridges. They're often used after a root canal or as part of a dental implant.

Crowns provide protection for weak teeth and can prevent them from breaking, all while enhancing your smile.

Traditional Crown Creation vs. CEREC® Same-Day Crowns

With traditional crown creation, the dentist prepares your tooth, takes a physical impression using dental putty, and sends it to an off-site lab for fabrication. While the impression process can be uncomfortable for some patients, it’s also a slower approach.

After receiving the custom crown from the lab—usually a few weeks later—the dentist removes the temporary crown and places the permanent one. This process requires multiple visits and can be time-consuming.

CEREC® Same-Day Crowns: Fast, Convenient, and Precise

At Inspira Advanced Dentistry, we use CEREC® technology to create crowns on-site, so you can receive your custom crown in just one visit. Here’s how it works:

  • Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM): CEREC® uses CAD software to design your crown based on detailed digital images of the treatment area.
  • Digital Camera: We use a hi-tech digital camera to capture precise, accurate images of your tooth and the surrounding area.
  • On-Site Milling Machine: Once the design is complete, our on-site milling machine uses CAM technology to craft your crown from a durable ceramic material.

The CEREC® Process: How It Works

  1. Digital Mapping: Using the CEREC® digital camera, we create a detailed, 3D image of your tooth and surrounding area.
  2. Custom Design: Our CAD software designs your custom crown, ensuring a perfect fit and natural appearance.
  3. Milling: The on-site milling machine uses the design to carve your crown from a ceramic disk. This process takes just a few minutes.
  4. Fitting and Placement: Once the crown is ready, we check its fit, color, and appearance. After making any final adjustments, we bond it to your tooth, ensuring it blends seamlessly with your natural smile.

Benefits of CEREC® Same-Day Crowns

  • No Messy Impressions: Traditional impressions can be uncomfortable, but CEREC® eliminates this step with digital mapping.
  • No Temporary Crown: You’ll leave with your permanent crown in place—no need for a temporary cap.
  • Natural, Beautiful Results: We ensure that your crown matches the color and texture of your natural teeth for a seamless smile.
